The State of the African Diaspora (SOAD) Emergency Response System (ERS), has answered the call to rescue and evacuate African students and their families out of war-torn Ukraine.
SOAD is a borderless State formalized at the Africa Union Summit in Mauritania on July 1, 2018. It is responsible for the welfare of its citizens in the Diaspora and continental Africa.
The SOAD ERS, was created through a government decree and is comprised of Members of Parliament, Ambassadors, Organizations and Volunteers. The ERS is led by Melvin Brown, General Director of the Command Centers and President of SOAD Parliament.
The ERS Rescue Mission is pleased to be working with Ambassador Olasubomi (Ola) Aina, MBE. Ambassador Ola is Chief Executive Officer for Lightup Foundation, Director for Global NGO Executive Committee GNEC - liaising for NGOs to the UN. She is a selfless humanitarian and has actively been involved in rescuing African Students in countries bordering Ukraine – Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Poland.
Ambassador Ola has issued an urgent Call to Action to rescue Ukrainian orphans of any heritage. She has asked SOAD ERS Rescue Mission, all organizations and volunteers on the ground to form a Rescue Coalition with urgency, as time is of the essence.
She reported recently in an interview with Victor Ayeni “Blacks in Germany refugee camps were bullied to sign documents they didn’t understand.” https://punchng.com. She further stated on March 23, 2022 “Glory be to God and thanks to: Olasubomi Iginla Aina MBE, Prince Adeleke Adewuyi, Lightup Foundation and other organisations supporting this mission, State of the African Diaspora (SOAD), Global Executive Committee GNEC and everyone who made this happen. We will continue to update you as they release others.”
